Six licenced venues were hit in January and February

Brunswick Voice

TWO people from Brunswick West have been charged over a spree of burglaries from licenced clubs across Melbourne.

The man and woman have been charged with burglary and drug offences along with an alleged co-offender from Prahran.

It is alleged the trio stole cash, sets of keys and personal property from six commercial venues across Melbourne’s northern and eastern suburbs between January 11 and February 3, including the Moreland Hotel in Sydney Road, and the Pascoe Vale and Fawkner RSL clubs.

Detectives from the Whitehorse Crime Investigation Union issued search warrants last Friday at properties in Prahran and Brunswick West, where they located and seized a vehicle and arrested a man and two women.

A 38-year-old man and 31-year-old woman, both from Brunswick West, along with a 33-year-old woman from Prahran, have each been charged with five counts of burglary, one of attempted burglary and five of theft, along with dealing with the proceeds of crime and possession of methylamphetamine and butanediol.

They were all bailed to appear before Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on 28 April.
