MUSIC, fashion, food and fun were the order of the day when the annual Sydney Road Street Party drew tens of thousands of people onto the shopping strip and its side streets on Sunday.

Whatever your taste, there was something for everyone at one of the largest free community festivals in Melbourne which filled a 1.5km strip of Sydney Road from Brunswick Road to Victoria Street.

The street party and the Brunswick Music Festival were opened at midday by Merri-bek Mayor Adam Pulford, and over the next six hours visitors were entertained by seven street stages, five street performing zones and roving performers.

About 160 stalls showcased a wide variety of fashion, crafts and community causes and organisations, while dozens of food outlets served every cuisine imaginable.

The fun continues until next Monday with the Brunswick Music Festival.
